Finance Controller – IFRS & Local GAAP Reporting

About the role

As a Finance Controller you will oversee finance controlling activities for a portfolio of Swiss entities, primarily within Sandvik’s Machining Logistics organisation. You will ensure accurate, timely reporting under IFRS and local GAAP, maintain strong balance‑sheet quality and support robust financial governance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, delivering accurate Group reporting under IFRS.
• Execute monthly and year‑end closing activities, coordinating with the Shared Service Center and finance stakeholders.
• Conduct balance‑sheet deep dives, manage intercompany matching, accruals, netting and stock‑related accounting, escalating risks as needed.
• Support inventory and fixed‑asset governance for a high‑volume distribution centre, including physical inventory count coordination.
• Assist the Sales unit with local finance topics such as forecast preparation, corporate income tax, VAT and audit coordination.
• Manage specialist accounting and compliance reporting, including lease contract management (IFRS 16), IAS 19 accruals, VAT declarations and regulatory statistical reporting.
• Maintain governance, internal controls and audit readiness across the finance organisation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in finance controlling within a multinational environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP and related accounting standards.
• Ability to work closely with shared services, business partners and auditors.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on high‑quality financial reporting and compliance.
