Financial Accountant – Group Finance (Geneva)

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join the Group Finance & Accounting team of an international group based in Geneva. The role is permanent and involves supporting month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing processes across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals and financial cut‑offs for month, quarter and year closures.
• Compile, review and reconcile balance‑sheet accounts, investigate variances and resolve issues with internal stakeholders.
• Support group reporting by ensuring consistent accounting treatments across entities.
• Coordinate data flows with AP/AR, Treasury, FP&A and Tax teams, maintaining robust controls.
• Assist statutory auditors by preparing documentation, answering queries and ensuring audit readiness.
• Participate in process‑improvement and automation initiatives to increase efficiency and data quality.

Required profile

• Proven experience in accounting and financial reporting, preferably in an international environment.
• Background in audit (Big 4 or equivalent) or extensive interaction with auditors.
• Fluent English; professional French is a strong plus.
• Structured, proactive and reliable with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills for handling large data sets.
