Finishing Operator – PCB Wave Soldering

About the role

The Finishing Operator is responsible for setting up and running the automatic wave solder machine that solders multiple connections on printed circuit boards (PCBs). The role ensures high‑quality solder joints, maintains equipment, and supports a clean, safe production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain the automatic wave solder machine.
• Operate and maintain the foam fluxer, using a hydrometer to verify specific gravity and resin ratio.
• Fill bar solder, flux, and alcohol into machines as required.
• Clean and adjust the Flux Density Controller (FDC) and fluxer.
• Monitor boards for soldering defects and verify component seating and solder quality.
• Dross the solder pot daily to remove impurities and perform routine maintenance.
• Drain flux and clean the machine weekly.
• Maintain inventory of chemicals and solder consumables.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety and security policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of related experience operating soldering or finishing equipment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required skills

• Wave soldering machine operation.
• Foam fluxer operation.
• Hydrometer usage for specific gravity measurement.
• Solder pot maintenance and dross removal.
• Flux density controller adjustment.
• Basic PCB inspection for solder quality.
