Founding Staff Mobile Engineer

About the role

Join a high‑impact platform team as the first dedicated Staff Mobile Engineer, based in Switzerland. You will rebuild a critical workforce app for restaurant employees from the ground up, shaping its architecture, design system, and development practices.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the existing app, define target architecture, and deliver an MVP within 1‑2 quarters.
• Build and maintain a performant React Native application using TypeScript, with offline caching and resilience for low‑spec devices.
• Implement native capabilities such as push notifications, camera‑based scanning, and geolocation‑verified clock‑ins.
• Establish a modular design system and shared component library to support future development and AI‑assisted coding.
• Partner with product, design, and engineering teams to prioritize features and ensure high reliability.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering production‑grade mobile applications end‑to‑end.
• Strong product and UX judgment, able to make independent design decisions.
• Comfortable reading and extending backend services (e.g., FastAPI) when needed.
• Experience leading greenfield projects or major legacy migrations.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote‑first, distributed environment.
