Freight Forwarder Operator – Zurich

About the role

CEVA Logistics is looking for a detail‑oriented Freight Forwarder Operator to join its Zurich team. You will work primarily with pharmaceutical and healthcare shipments, ensuring smooth processing, documentation, and customer communication across all transport modes.

Key responsibilities

• Independently process and handle pharma and healthcare shipments.
• Communicate with customers, partners, shipping lines, and airlines in writing and verbally.
• Prepare transport documents and place orders for air, ocean, ground, and vehicle transport.
• Track shipments, enter orders, and prepare invoices.
• Maintain the pharma/healthcare network and cooperate with scheduling and warehousing teams.
• Provide customer support for enquiries and complaints.
• Control costs and optimise planning in the TMS system.
• Prepare customs documents and clear import/export shipments, preferably using the EDEC/NCTS system.

Required profile

• Basic logistics apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• Several years of experience in international freight forwarding (3PL).
• Experience with pharma or healthcare logistics is a plus.
• Willingness to perform hands‑on operational tasks daily.
• Fluent written and spoken German and English.
• Ability to work under pressure, with strong organisational detail.
• Familiarity with EU GDP Directive (2013/C343/01) is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficient use of MS Office.
• Experience with TMS planning systems.
• Knowledge of EDEC/NCTS customs clearance system.
