Fundraising & Partnerships Internship – International Trade

About the role

The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) is offering a six‑month internship in the Division on International Trade and Commodities (DITC). The role supports fundraising and partnership activities, providing research, analysis and administrative support to the Senior Manager for Strategic Partnerships and Fundraising.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in implementing DITC’s fundraising strategy and outreach activities.
• Research donor priorities, funding trends, calls for proposals and partnership opportunities.
• Monitor and screen potential donors, including Member States, development banks, foundations and private‑sector partners.
• Prepare and draft concept notes, project proposals, donor briefs and other partnership documents.
• Develop fundraising pitches, presentations and talking points for donor meetings.
• Organise meetings with existing and prospective donors and partners, and produce summaries and follow‑up actions.
• Maintain the division’s fundraising tracker and donor database.
• Undertake other related duties and on‑the‑job training as required.

Required profile

• Available to work full‑time (40 hours per week) for six months, either onsite in Geneva or remotely.
• For onsite work, a valid visa and personal coverage of travel, accommodation, medical insurance and living expenses are required.
• Remote candidates must have a computer with a modern browser, the latest Office 365 suite and basic IT‑security practices.
• Ability to observe UN Internship Programme rules and provide copies of all materials produced.
