Global Associate Director, Patient Strategy & Partnerships

About the role

Abbott's Branded Generics division is looking for a Global Associate Director, Patient Strategy & Partnerships, based in Allschwil, Switzerland. The role strengthens the voice of patients across the organization and builds partnerships that improve patient experiences and outcomes. It shapes how Abbott listens to and works with patients and patient organizations worldwide, linking patient insights with decisions in Medical Affairs, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, Public Affairs and Commercial.

Key responsibilities

• Shape Abbott's global patient strategy: develop and advance a patient-centered engagement approach and advise senior stakeholders on patient needs and healthcare trends
• Integrate patient perspectives into business, medical and access decisions and promote patient trust
• Build relationships with patient organizations, advocacy groups and patient leaders, and collaborate on education, support programs and evidence generation
• Gather and translate patient insights into recommendations, partnering with Medical Affairs and Market Access on evidence generation and value-based initiatives
• Contribute to patient-centered policy and advocacy, and to discussions that improve access to care and reduce barriers to treatment
• Develop frameworks, guidance and best practices for patient engagement, and act as an ambassador at industry meetings, scientific congresses and patient advocacy forums

Required profile

• 5+ years of relevant experience in patient engagement
• 10+ years of leadership experience in Medical Affairs, Market Access, Public Affairs, Advocacy or related healthcare disciplines
• Experience in complex matrixed global healthcare organizations and in influencing complex global organizations and external healthcare ecosystems
• Proven track record in external stakeholder management and partnership building
• Fluency in English required; additional languages are a plus

Required skills

• Strong experience in oncology, biologics/biosimilars, policy, HTA and external stakeholder engagement
• Excellent communication, storytelling, facilitation and executive presentation skills
• Additional experience in oncology, biosimilars, health policy, HTA or healthcare advocacy is valued but not essential
