Global Medical Manager - Cardiometabolics

About the role

Abbott's Established Pharmaceutical Division (EPD) is hiring a Global Medical Manager for its global headquarters in Allschwil-Basel, Switzerland. The role strengthens the company's growth in the cardiometabolic area and reports to the Global Medical Director of Cardiometabolics, working closely with regional and local Medical Directors, the Innovation & Development Department and Global Marketing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead specific activities and strategic projects within Medical Affairs for the Cardiometabolics portfolio
• Support the Global Medical Director in reviewing and approving global and regional medical and clinical study and publication proposals
• Plan and execute pre-launch activities of cross-regional products and brands with Global and Regional Marketing
• Run Key Opinion Leader assessment and identification projects, maintain the KOL database, identify potential global KOLs and inform stakeholders
• Contribute to medical maintenance of global brands through product safety and labeling team meetings, scientific document writing and review, and updating the scientific library
• Collaborate with marketing on promotional materials such as sales aids, web pages and digital platforms, ensuring scientific accuracy
• Update scientific parts of registration dossiers for geo-expansion of local products so they meet approval standards in other countries
• Assess new licensing and acquisition opportunities for portfolio expansion

Required profile

• Medical doctor degree or PhD in related life sciences
• Relevant experience in regional or global Medical Affairs for cardiometabolics or endocrinology
• At least 5 years of regional or global responsibility for comparable products
• Experience operating in an international, cross-functional setting
• Previous international experience, especially in emerging markets, is a plus
• Very good English; another language is an asset
