Global Category Manager - Decentralized Trials

About the role

Takeda is hiring a Global Category Manager for Decentralized Trials, based in Cambridge, MA or Zurich, Switzerland. The role helps shape and advance global procurement strategies that support decentralized clinical trials and related clinical technologies, working within a global procurement team alongside business stakeholders, suppliers and cross-functional partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop category strategies that align sourcing activities with business priorities and long-term objectives.
• Lead sourcing initiatives, including supplier selection, commercial negotiations and contracting.
• Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and support procurement decisions across clinical development services.
• Manage supplier relationships through governance, performance oversight and ongoing collaboration.
• Drive value by balancing cost, quality, innovation, sustainability and risk.
• Apply market intelligence to identify opportunities and assess supplier capabilities.
• Support master service agreement strategies and supplier engagement models.
• Leverage digital tools and analytics to improve procurement processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• Significant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management or a closely related field.
• Knowledge of decentralized clinical trials, clinical technologies and related supplier markets.
• Experience leading commercial negotiations, contract strategy and supplier management.
• Ability to influence and collaborate across complex global organizations.

What we offer

• Hybrid work arrangement under Takeda's Hybrid and Remote Work policy.
• U.S. base salary range of $154,400 to $242,550 depending on qualifications, experience and location.
