Global Category Manager - Production Services

About the role

Holcim, headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, is looking for a Global Category Manager for Production Services. As the primary procurement authority for the Production Services category, the role leads the transformation and value creation in Maintenance Services (mechanical and electrical, industrial cleaning, refractory, etc.) and Engineering Services globally. It reports to the Head of CAPEX & Industrial and drives professional category management, key supplier management and supply chain risk reduction.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the global category strategy for Production Services across AMEA, LATAM and EU, with supplier diversification and business continuity plans.
• Drive initiatives such as refractory services, scaffolding, internal material handling, industrial cleaning and belt conveyor services, using should-cost models, TCO evaluations and medium-to-long term contracts.
• Implement third-party spend management and demand management for major plant and kiln shutdowns.
• Lead the sustainable procurement framework, manage key supplier relationships and frame agreements, and run BCC sourcing strategies using sourcing teams in China and India and networks in Turkey and the EEU.
• Act as the main interface between Global Procurement, CEM, AGG, Geocycle, PM&E and regional Category Managers, and develop standard Scope of Work and specifications.
• Provide procurement leadership in capital projects for engineering services, general contracting and heavy equipment installation.

Required profile

• University degree in procurement, world economics or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of international experience in strategic sourcing, procurement transformation and category management for direct and indirect spend in heavy industry, cement, concrete, aggregates and mining, with at least 5 years in two of these areas.
• Proven track record of leading procurement teams, building business continuity plans and diversifying suppliers in high-risk or sanctioned environments.
• Experience delivering multimillion-euro savings and managing spend portfolios of 100M+ EUR.
• At least 10 complex CAPEX sourcing projects for quarry/mining equipment, quarry fleet optimisation and large cement plant revamps.
• Fluent English; Mandarin, Portuguese and/or Spanish is a significant advantage.
• Willingness to travel globally 30-50% of the time.

Required skills

• Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) evaluation, cost modelling and capital allocation analysis.
• Plant maintenance knowledge (TPM, RCM, major shutdowns) and contracting regimes such as FIDIC.
• Sustainable procurement, risk mitigation and pre-qualification platforms such as Ecovadis and Avetta.
