Global Epidemiology Intern

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking two epidemiology interns to join its Basel campus in Allschwil, Switzerland. The internship starts on 1 September or 1 October and offers the chance to work on cancer epidemiology, real‑world data, and AI‑enhanced literature reviews within a global healthcare company.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct literature reviews on incidence and prevalence of specific cancer tumor types, using step‑by‑step methodology and AI‑based tools.
• Contribute epidemiology sections to regulatory documents throughout the drug development process.
• Identify and assess fit‑for‑use real‑world data from internal and external sources, including European RWD networks, US health‑insurance claims, electronic health records, and cancer registries.
• Define phenotypes and cohorts, collaborate with analysts, and apply in‑house standardized tools for federated RWD analysis across oncology, immunology, and neuroscience therapeutic areas.
• Support the ongoing development of AI‑driven RWD search and repository tools.
• Participate in team discussions to contextualize and interpret findings and attend departmental events.
