About the role

Roche is looking for a Global Expert Project Reviews to join its Global Capital Investment team in Basel. The role plays a key part in driving technical assurance, governance and strategic framework development across the capital investment portfolio worldwide, acting as a formal deputy to leadership and mastering advanced review methodologies such as PDRI.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project reviews across the global portfolio, providing technical assurance, identifying critical risks and recommending mitigation strategies to senior leadership.
• Act as the formal substitute for the Global Lead, jointly championing the value of global project reviews and driving governance excellence.
• Develop and simplify the global project review maturity model, integrating key risk indicators to improve execution predictability.
• Master and facilitate structured assessment methodologies such as PDRI, building internal capability and transferring knowledge from external partners to in-house experts.
• Use digital tools and predictive data analytics to extract portfolio-wide trends, and automate review workflows and templates.
• Train, mentor and coach engineering and project teams globally to raise review capabilities.

Required profile

• Master's degree (MSc or equivalent) in Mechanical, Process, Civil Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• At least 15 years of hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of major capital projects, with expertise in Stage Gate governance, project controls and field-level execution (Life Sciences background preferred).
• Proven expertise in applying and teaching structured assessment frameworks such as PDRI, with a track record of building internal capability.
• A trusted, influential leader who can act as an effective deputy to senior leadership.
• Fluent English (German is a strong plus); open to up to 20% international travel.
