Global Planning Director (100%)
STAAR Surgical Switzerland · Nidau
Job description
About the role
STAAR Surgical is recruiting a Global Planning Director (100%) to support its growth and expansion. The role covers the global S&OP process, demand and supply planning, capacity planning, inventory optimisation and supplier planning, and includes leading and developing the planning team.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deploy a global S&OP process and drive the demand planning process, reviewing and adjusting forecast demand and adding events as appropriate.
- Run simulations of forecasted demand against supply resources to create a time-phased inventory plan by item, and accurately project and correct supply shortfalls and surpluses daily, weekly or monthly.
- Generate, maintain and manage a rough-cut capacity plan (RCCP), a master production schedule (MPS) and a materials requirement plan (MRP) based on demand forecasts from the business groups.
- Resolve capacity constraints with the manufacturing leads at the internal sites Nidau and Monrovia and with external suppliers, ensuring reliable material supply.
- Ensure the MPS and detailed scheduling deliver the right inventory levels and mix to meet customer service targets and inventory policies, and monitor scheduled execution across the network.
- Optimise inventory through the end-to-end planning process, develop and deploy inventory policies and standards, and oversee supplier planning and replenishment of accessory-related RM and FG units.
- Maintain planning-related master data and improve, rationalise and standardise the planning process globally.
- Recruit, develop, organise and train departmental personnel, ensuring compliance with cGMP regulations, local, state and national laws and company policies.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent as a minimum.
- Several years of leadership experience in supply chain or planning roles, with proven results improving key metrics such as service through product availability and inventory optimisation.
- Pragmatic, team leadership, analytical thinking, decisiveness, organisational sensitivity, initiative and resilience.
- Ability to collaborate across SC functions and other business functions to lead an integrated S&OP/business planning process.
- Excellent English communication; German or French is a plus.
Required skills
- Supply chain planning design, deployment and modelling.
- Experience deploying Oracle or SAP/APO, or other ERP solutions, with advanced planning solutions.
- Planning process redesign and deployment.
What we offer
- 40 working hours per week and modern working spaces.
- At least 25 days of vacation and a modern cafeteria.
- Monthly contribution to health insurance costs and training and development plans.
