Global Planning Director

About the role

The Global Planning Director at STAAR Surgical is responsible for designing and deploying end-to-end planning processes that guarantee the highest market availability of STAAR Surgical ICL's and its accessories and optimized inventories globally. The role leads a high-performing team, works with supply chain leads across the E2E supply chain and with stakeholders such as Customer Service, Finance, Quality, Regulatory and IT, and sits within the Global E2E Supply Chain Leadership Team.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deploy a global S&OP process and drive the demand planning process, reviewing and adjusting forecast demand and adding events.
• Run simulations of forecasted demand against supply resources, create time-phased inventory plans by item, and resolve supply shortfalls and surpluses daily, weekly or monthly.
• Maintain a rough-cut capacity plan (RCCP), a master production schedule (MPS) and a materials requirement plan (MRP) based on regional demand forecasts, and resolve capacity constraints with manufacturing leads at Nidau and Monrovia and with external suppliers.
• Optimize inventory by developing and deploying inventory policies and standards across inventory nodes, and oversee supplier planning and replenishment of RM and FG units.
• Improve, rationalize and standardize the planning process globally, maintain planning-related master data, and recruit, train and develop a team in line with cGMP regulations and company policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent as a minimum.
• Leadership experience in supply chain or planning roles, with proven results improving service levels and inventory optimization.
• Pragmatic, analytical, decisive and resilient, able to lead collaboration across supply chain and other business functions.
• English required; German or French is an advantage.

Required skills

• Supply chain planning design, deployment and modeling.
• Experience deploying Oracle or SAP/APO, or other ERP solutions, with advanced planning tools.
• Demonstrated experience redesigning and deploying planning processes.
