Global Project Manager (Humanitarian Programmes)

About the role

IMPACT Initiatives, a Geneva-based humanitarian NGO that runs the REACH Initiative, is looking for a Global Project Manager to join its Global Programmes section. The post reports to the Head of Global Programmes and oversees a portfolio of strategic global projects, working with Global Programmes Managers, country teams, HQ departments, donors and external partners. It complements, rather than duplicates, grant administration, compliance, financial monitoring and contractual management functions led by PPS and Finance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee implementation of global projects against approved activities, deliverables, indicators, budgets and contractual commitments, using existing tracking tools from PPS and Finance where relevant.
• Develop project workplans, coordinate kick-off meetings and regular progress and quality reviews, and maintain oversight of contractual deliverables and reporting deadlines.
• Consolidate narrative reporting to institutional donors and coordinate donor queries and contractual changes such as budget revisions and no-cost extensions.
• Identify delays, bottlenecks and risks, follow up on corrective measures, and escalate major risks to the Executive and Senior Leadership Teams.
• Support pooled funding coordination and allocation, track progress across recipient countries and liaise with Finance and PPS on delays, under-spending and reallocation.
• Engage donors and partners, chair partner meetings and ensure partners meet project, donor and programme requirements.

Required profile

• Strong project management skills combined with a practical understanding of humanitarian programme implementation in assessments, analysis and applied research.
• Comfortable coordinating across multiple countries and teams and consolidating information for institutional donor reporting.
• Previous experience managing humanitarian programmes, familiarity with IMPACT's work and understanding of the assessment and analysis sector are strongly valued.
