(Senior) Global Project Manager, Geneva

About the role

IMPACT Initiatives, a Geneva-based humanitarian NGO that runs the REACH Initiative, is looking for a (Senior) Global Project Manager to join its Global Programmes section at headquarters. The post reports to the Head of Global Programmes, works with Global Programmes Managers, country teams, HQ departments, donors and external partners, and has a functional link with the Head of Projects and Partnerships Support. It is an open-ended contract starting as soon as possible.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the implementation of a portfolio of global projects, ensuring progress against approved activities, deliverables, indicators, budgets and contractual commitments, building on tracking tools used by PPS and Finance.
• Develop and maintain project-level workplans, coordinate kick-off meetings and regular progress and quality reviews, and maintain oversight of contractual deliverables and reporting deadlines.
• Consolidate narrative reporting to institutional donors and coordinate donor queries and contractual changes such as amendments, budget revisions and no-cost extensions.
• Identify delays, bottlenecks and risks, follow up on corrective measures, document lessons learned and inform the Executive and Senior Leadership Teams of major risks.
• Support pooled funding coordination and allocation, track progress across recipient countries and liaise with Finance and PPS on under-spending and other risks.
• Engage donors and partners, and for consortium projects track partner progress, consolidate reporting and chair partner meetings.

Required profile

• Strong project management skills combined with a practical understanding of humanitarian programme implementation in assessments, analysis and applied research.
• Comfortable coordinating across multiple countries and teams and consolidating complex information for institutional donor reporting.
• Previous experience managing humanitarian programmes, familiarity with IMPACT's work and understanding of the assessment and analysis sector are strongly valued.
