Graduate Software Engineer Talent Program 2027

About the role

UBS is looking for recent graduates to join its 2027 Graduate Talent Program in the Order Capture Pod of the Securities Trading Crew. You will contribute to the development, testing and support of global securities trading platforms using modern engineering practices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance front‑end and back‑end components in collaboration with experienced engineers.
• Participate in code reviews, agile ceremonies and technical discussions.
• Work with AI‑assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and follow specification‑driven delivery.
• Collaborate across teams, locations and disciplines to deliver business value.

Required profile

• Graduated within the last 24 months with a bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in a MINT field.
• Minimum GPA of 4.5 (Swiss grading system) and strong communication skills.
• Motivated to work in a high‑demand environment with tight deadlines.
• Values of hard‑working, trustworthy, dedicated and collaborative.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Java and object‑oriented programming.
• Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and modern web technologies.
• Understanding of software development fundamentals, testing, source control and application design.
• Basic knowledge of databases, SQL and API development.
• Familiarity with development tools such as Git, IntelliJ IDEA, VSCode, Jira, Maven or Gradle.
