Hardware Design Engineer (Aerospace)

About the role

Fortil, an international engineering and technology consulting group with 2,500 employees and 30 offices across 14 countries, is looking for a Hardware Design Engineer to join its R&D team working on aerospace projects in French-speaking Switzerland. The role covers hardware design and development, as well as verification and validation of the systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop electronic hardware in an R&D environment
• Take part in defining hardware architecture and technical design choices
• Perform design analyses and support the implementation of hardware solutions
• Carry out verification and validation to ensure compliance with technical requirements
• Define and run verification procedures, analyse test results and help investigate technical issues
• Take part in design reviews and work with multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation throughout the development lifecycle

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Hardware Engineering or a related field
• At least 5-6 years of experience in a similar role
• Strong background in hardware design and development, preferably in an R&D environment, with practical experience in hardware verification and validation
• Previous experience in the aerospace or aeronautics industry is required
• Fluent English is mandatory; French is a plus
• Available to start as soon as possible and willing to work in French-speaking Switzerland
