Head of Engineering

About the role

We are looking for a Head of Engineering to lead a fully remote, mission‑driven team that is building sustainable inflight service management solutions. This senior position sits between the Head of Technology and multiple engineering squads, shaping the organization to scale predictably while delivering high‑impact products for the airline industry.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and scale the engineering organization with a focus on people leadership, structure, and delivery predictability.
• Own engineering delivery at an organizational level, including capacity planning, prioritisation, roadmap feasibility and dependency management across initiatives.
• Directly manage and develop engineering leadership (Tech Leads, QA Leads) and evolve the management model as the team grows.
• Collaborate with Head of Technology, Product and senior leadership to translate business priorities into realistic engineering plans.
• Set and enforce standards for architecture, quality, reliability and security, ensuring teams can execute independently.
• Ensure overall service reliability through clear ownership, escalation paths and continuous improvement practices.
• Lead hiring, onboarding, performance management and career development to support sustainable growth.
• Build the next layer of engineering capabilities beyond feature teams, including specialised domains.

Required profile

• Proven experience scaling engineering organisations in a fast‑moving, remote environment.
• Strong people‑leadership skills with a track record of developing engineering managers and leads.
• Deep technical understanding to guide decisions, challenge assumptions and address complex topics.
• Ability to translate business goals into clear, realistic engineering roadmaps.
