Head of Finance – Finance Director for Commodity Trading Group

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Director to lead the financial function of a multi‑entity, multi‑jurisdiction commodity trading group. The role combines strategic oversight, financial governance and active support for trading activities, driving long‑term growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all group financial operations – accounting, treasury, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
• Prepare the annual consolidated financial statements under IFRS and Swiss GAAP FER.
• Own corporate treasury and liquidity management; coordinate financing and banking relationships with the Head of Trade Finance.
• Collaborate with Risk Management on desk‑level P&L reporting, performance monitoring and cost allocation.
• Coordinate external audits, tax compliance (including transfer pricing) and regulatory reporting across jurisdictions.
• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
• Act as strategic advisor to senior management and shareholders; represent the company with investors and banking partners.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team.

Required profile

• Proven experience as Finance Director, CFO or senior finance executive in commodity, energy, shipping or related sectors.
• Strong knowledge of treasury management, multi‑entity consolidation and international financial operations.
• Excellent understanding of risk management and financial markets in both paper and physical commodity trading.
• Familiarity with trade finance instruments and ability to work alongside a dedicated trade finance function.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field; CPA, ACCA, Swiss CPA or MBA is a plus.
• Fluent in English; French strongly preferred; additional languages are a bonus.
