Head of Finance – Scale-up (Zurich)

About the role

We are supporting an international cleantech scale‑up in Zürich (Schlieren) in the recruitment of a hands‑on Head of Finance. The company is preparing for its next phase of growth and the Head of Finance will work closely with the founder to provide financial visibility, ensure the integrity of financial information and support key business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow and liquidity planning.
• Develop financial scenarios and provide forward‑looking insights.
• Analyse performance and support decisions on pricing, hiring, investments, costs and profitability.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes.
• Ensure accurate group reporting, consolidation and financial controls.
• Coordinate statutory accounts, tax matters and audits with external advisers.
• Prepare financial information for management, the Board and investors.
• Develop the internal finance team and ensure effective collaboration with external partners.

Required profile

• Strong FP&A skills, including budgeting, forecasting, cash management and financial modelling.
• Hands‑on experience in accounting, closing and controlling.
• Experience gained in an SME, scale‑up or similarly entrepreneurial environment.
• Good understanding of Swiss accounting and statutory requirements.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with Power Pivot is an advantage.
• Fluency in English and good German skills.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent.
• Swiss Expert in Accounting and Controlling qualification, Swiss CPA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent would be an advantage.
