Head of Merchandising

About the role

The Head of Merchandising will shape and execute the global merchandising strategy across all product categories, ensuring that the brand vision, consumer demand and commercial objectives are aligned. This senior leader will work closely with Design, Product Development, Production, Sales and Regional teams to deliver profitable, brand‑consistent collections tailored to diverse markets and channels.

Key responsibilities

• Define and lead the global merchandising strategy, translating business goals into actionable collection plans.
• Establish seasonal product architecture, balancing assortment across categories, price points, customer segments and distribution channels.
• Drive collection planning, identify growth opportunities, and address product gaps.
• Partner with Design and Product Development to balance creativity, innovation and commercial performance.
• Lead cross‑functional decision‑making on product range, category priorities and assortment optimization.
• Define and oversee the global pricing strategy, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.
• Analyze cost structures, margins and pricing opportunities to maximize performance.
• Monitor sell‑in, sell‑out and inventory data, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Conduct market intelligence, competitive benchmarking and leverage consumer insights to refine product strategies.
• Oversee merchandising aspects of collection launches and seasonal go‑to‑market plans.

Required profile

• Proven senior experience in merchandising, product strategy or commercial leadership within a global, multi‑category environment.
• Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate market trends into profitable product assortments.
• Excellent cross‑functional collaboration skills, influencing design, development, sales and regional teams.
• Data‑driven mindset with experience analysing sales, inventory and pricing metrics.
• Ability to balance brand consistency with regional market adaptations.
