Head of Resources Management Unit (P) - Multiple Duty Stations

About the role

IOM, a UN-related organization working on migration, is recruiting a Head of Resources Management Unit (Professional level) for multiple duty stations, based in Geneva. Reporting to the Chief of Mission and secondarily to the Deputy Regional Director (Management), the role coordinates with HQ departments and the Global Shared Services Centre. It is a core member of the senior management team and principal advisor to the Chief of Mission on strategic resource management, financial sustainability, operational governance, enterprise risk management and operational risk.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and advice on financial sustainability, cost recovery, resource mobilization and risk-informed decision-making
• Lead financial management: budgeting, forecasting, liquidity management, financial reporting, audit readiness and internal controls
• Oversee human resources, positioning it as a strategic business partner and ensuring quality assurance of HR products
• Drive cost-efficiency, value-for-money and results-based management, linking financial data to programmatic outputs
• Support the Chief of Mission on enterprise risk management, covering financial, operational, compliance, reputational and safeguarding risks, and coordinate the risk register
• Provide strategic oversight of supply chain, ICT and administrative services, including segregation of duties across procurement-to-pay and fit-for-purpose, scalable ICT systems
