HSE Communications Support Officer

About the role

The HSE Communications Support Officer will join the Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental Protection (HSE) Department at CERN. You will help translate complex HSE information into clear, engaging content for internal and external audiences, supporting the department’s communication strategy and the biennial sustainability report.

Key responsibilities

• Produce written, visual and web content aligned with the HSE communications plan.
• Collaborate with CERN audiovisual and design teams to create supporting material.
• Maintain and update the HSE Department website, proposing improvements.
• Create short videos to complement articles and newsletters.
• Write announcements and articles for the CERN Community Bulletin.
• Assist in drafting and designing the environmental chapters of the biennial sustainability report, following GRI standards.

Required profile

• Recent graduate in communications or related field.
• Maximum two years of professional experience.
• Ability to research, absorb and simplify scientific or technical information.
• Excellent written and spoken English; French is a plus.

Required skills

• Basic video production and editing (FinalCutPro, Davinci Resolve or equivalent).
• Web content management experience (WordPress or equivalent).
• Design and visual material creation (InDesign, Photoshop, Canva or equivalent).
