About the role
The International, Impartial and Independent Mechanism (IIIM) is seeking an Information Analyst Intern to support the Judicial Support and Cooperation Section (JSCS) in Geneva. The internship offers hands‑on experience in open‑source research, data processing, and contextual analysis related to investigations of serious crimes in Syria.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct open‑source searches to verify incidents and gather contextual background for ongoing criminal investigations.
- Monitor selected open sources for updates relevant to active domestic investigations.
- Assist in analysing records, preparing timelines, and summarising background information.
- Perform weekly monitoring of political and judicial developments and produce concise reports for JSCS.
- Enter and review metadata for material collected or preserved by the IIIM.
Required profile
- University student or recent graduate in international law, political science, security studies, or a related field.
- Strong interest in international accountability mechanisms and evidence‑based research.
- Ability to work full‑time (40 hours/week) and adapt to flexible working arrangements.
- Excellent written communication skills in English.
