Information Management and Communications Technology Developer (IMCT)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking an Information Management and Communications Technology (IMCT) Developer to support the Global Visa Application Centre (VAC) Network. Working under the Programme Manager for the Global VAC Network and the IMCT Officer, the incumbent will assist in developing and maintaining IT applications that enable efficient immigration, visa, and readmission processes.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design, development, testing, and deployment of IT applications for the Immigration, Visas and Readmission (IVR) Unit.
• Collaborate with the ICT Department and other relevant teams to ensure system integration and data security.
• Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for existing applications and infrastructure.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and user guides.
• Participate in regular system reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Relevant higher‑education qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Experience working in an international or multilateral environment is desirable.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work collaboratively across units.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of additional UN languages is a plus.

Required skills

• Experience with the development and administration of IT applications and systems.
• Familiarity with ICT project coordination and system integration.
• Understanding of data security and privacy standards.
