Interim Oil Products Operator (6-month contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Oil Products Operator on a six‑month interim contract to support our trading operations in London or Geneva. The role will manage the end‑to‑end execution of oil product trades, ensuring safe, timely and cost‑effective delivery of feedstocks and products. You will work closely with traders, chartering teams, risk, credit and finance functions.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the full lifecycle of oil product trades, from nomination of vessels to delivery.
• Issue voyage orders, appoint independent cargo inspection companies and validate quantities and quality.
• Validate pricing, ensure accurate P&L posting and maintain detailed cargo records.
• Perform freight, demurrage, product, insurance and additive calculations.
• Identify and implement profitability improvements and cost‑saving opportunities.
• Liaise with agents, inspectors, customers and suppliers to protect the firm’s position.
• Submit and manage claims (demurrage, quality, quantity, insurance).
• Work with finance on letters of credit, freight invoice verification and payment approvals.
• Uphold HSE standards and comply with company policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Proven track record as a senior products and shipping operator in oil products.
• Experience with refinery operations or scheduling is preferred.
• Chartering experience and knowledge of ship vetting, especially in North‑West Europe.
• Strong understanding of ship economics, voyage calculations and demurrage management.
• Ability to work closely with traders, risk, credit and finance teams.
