Interim Quality Engineer (Freelance, Hybrid)

About the role

This interim position supports quality performance on the shop floor for a manufacturing operation. You will work closely with production, engineering and quality teams to resolve issues, drive corrective actions and ensure compliance with internal and customer standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on quality support directly in production environments.
• Analyze quality problems and lead root‑cause investigations.
• Implement containment actions and corrective‑preventive measures (CAPA).
• Manage escalation topics and address customer quality issues.
• Collaborate with production, engineering and quality teams to maintain standards.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with quality and customer requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.

Required profile

• Several years of experience as a Quality Engineer or Quality Specialist in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Strong hands‑on experience working on the shop floor.
• Proven ability to solve operational problems independently.
• Experience using root‑cause analysis methods such as 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa.
• Proactive personality with the capacity to drive actions without supervision.
