Intern – Programme Management (Event Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement)

About the role

This is a project‑based internship with the United Nations Office for Digital and Emerging Technologies (UNODET) located in Geneva. The role lasts 3‑6 months, with the possibility to work onsite or remotely, and supports either event planning or stakeholder‑engagement tracks.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordinating and delivering high‑level UN events, including the Global Dialogue on AI Governance and related workshops.
• Manage event logistics, participant registration, invitations and preparation of briefing materials.
• Support the implementation of the Global Digital Compact by engaging stakeholders and preparing consultation materials.
• Attend UN meetings, take notes and draft summary reports.
• Monitor developments in UN mechanisms and curate content for the GDC online platform.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a graduate programme, final year of a bachelor’s degree, or recent graduate in fields such as International Relations, Law, Economics, Technology Governance, etc.
• Strong interest in technological governance (internet governance, AI, digital human rights) and demonstrated organisational and project‑coordination abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interaction with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience supporting meetings, events or multi‑stakeholder processes is desirable.
