International Therapeutic Area Head Immunology/Cardiovascular

About the role

Bristol Myers Squibb has created a new Senior Director role, the International Therapeutic Area Head (Immunology/Cardiovascular), to provide overarching therapeutic area strategic leadership under the Global & Local Operating Model. As the primary International Markets counterpart to Global VP/TA Heads and a standing member of the Global Medical TA Leadership Team, the role supports Regional Medical Leads and Regional Medical Engagement Leads across Europe, APAC and INTERCON.

Key responsibilities

• Own the International Markets TA medical strategy across the full asset lifecycle, from early pipeline shaping (ID2-ID4) through pre-launch, launch and lifecycle optimization
• Act as the International Markets representative to the Global VP/TA Head and translate global TA strategy into direction for regional leads, including evidence generation strategy such as RWE
• Provide strategic TA oversight to regional leads, partner with Regional Medical Heads on scientific leadership, and lead, coach and develop the TA team with a succession bench for future Cluster Medical Heads and MPL candidates
• Build and lead senior external partnerships with thought leaders, academic centers and healthcare system stakeholders, and represent International Medical at global TA forums and congresses
• Act as the senior medical bridge between International Medical, Global TA, Commercial, Market Access, Clinical Development and Regulatory

Required profile

• Senior medical leader with an advanced scientific or medical degree (PharmD, PhD, MD preferred)
• 15+ years of relevant biopharmaceutical industry experience
• Deep expertise in Oncology/Haematology or Innovative Medicine (ICV/NS)
• In-depth knowledge of at least one region or key country of BMS
• Demonstrated success delivering results and leading strategically in a matrix environment
