IT Category Manager

About the role

The IT Category Manager owns the end-to-end procurement strategy and operations of all IT spend at IBSA, including software, hardware and IT consultancy services. The role applies a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) approach to every sourcing decision and acts as the strategic link between Procurement and the Enterprise Technology & Transformation (ET&T) function, ensuring IT sourcing delivers value for money and supports the group's digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and run an IT category strategy for software (licences, SaaS, ERP), hardware and IT consulting, in line with the ET&T roadmap, and conduct regular market analysis
• Define a supplier segmentation model and category roadmap, embed TCO in all decisions and maintain an IT supply risk register
• Lead competitive tenders (RFI, RFQ, RFP) and negotiate contracts, SLAs and pricing, working with Legal on data security, IP, liability and GDPR
• Manage supplier relationships through business reviews and KPI monitoring, and develop alternative sources
• Act as the main procurement partner for ET&T and other IT spend stakeholders, and support the annual budget with market intelligence
• Ensure IT procurement complies with internal policies and regulations

Required profile

• Master's degree or equivalent in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
• At least 10 years in procurement, including 5 years in IT category management in a multinational setting
• Track record of complex IT contracts (software licensing, cloud, hardware, consulting) and large-scale vendor negotiations
• Fluent English and Italian; French or German is an advantage

Required skills

• Knowledge of enterprise ecosystems: SAP (incl. S/4HANA), Microsoft 365, Azure, Oracle, Salesforce, ServiceNow
• Sourcing and negotiating cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cybersecurity solutions
• Experience with P2P platforms and e-procurement tools; Jaggaer is a plus
• Familiarity with GxP, CSV and 21 CFR Part 11 / Annex 11 compliance, relevant to the pharmaceutical sector
