IT Cloud Engineer – AWS & Terraform (80-100%)

About the role

We are looking for an IT Cloud Engineer to join our Global IT team in Bubendorf. You will be responsible for operating and evolving our AWS cloud environment while ensuring security, compliance and reliability. The role offers a mix of hands‑on engineering, automation and technical leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain cloud operations in line with security, compliance and company policies.
• Design, build and support CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline and Jenkins.
• Develop Infrastructure‑as‑Code solutions with Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
• Enforce cloud engineering standards through governance, peer reviews and best‑practice documentation.
• Implement monitoring, alerting and observability to guarantee system performance.
• Automate operational processes such as patching, backup validation and compliance checks.
• Collaborate with application owners, IT teams and the CISO organization to meet business and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in change management, CAB reviews and produce technical documentation.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and contribute to cloud governance runbooks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of hands‑on AWS cloud engineering in a production environment.
• Experience in regulated industries (pharmaceutical, biotech, medical devices).
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or higher) or equivalent expertise.
• Strong knowledge of AWS security services and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST CSF).
