IT Security Engineer

About the role

Imagine being the person standing between cutting‑edge aerospace innovation and the cyber threats trying to slow it down. As an IT Security Engineer at Destinus you will design, implement and operate security controls for a distributed cloud‑first environment supporting critical aerospace and defence technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement IT security policies, standards and procedures, translating ISO 27001, NIST and defence regulations into technical controls.
• Design and maintain security baselines for Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, AWS and on‑prem Unix/Windows systems, including identity, access, logging and monitoring.
• Implement and tune SIEM/SOAR detections, define logging, alerting and runbooks, and lead investigations of complex cybersecurity incidents.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of major security initiatives such as network segmentation, VPNs, vulnerability management and supplier security assessments.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of hands‑on experience in IT security engineering, cloud security or systems engineering in a corporate or high‑tech environment.
• Experience working in regulated environments (aviation, defence or safety‑critical systems) and familiarity with ISO 27001, NIST CSF or similar frameworks.
• Proactive, calm under pressure and able to communicate clearly in English; additional European language is a plus.

Required skills

• Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune security configuration.
• AWS security (identity, access, logging, compliance).
• SIEM/SOAR tools such as Microsoft Sentinel or Splunk.
• Endpoint protection (EDR, MDM) for Windows, macOS and Linux.
• Scripting/automation with PowerShell or Python.
