IT Server Administrator

About the role

The IT Server Administrator will join Vitol’s Geneva office as part of the local Infrastructure team. Reporting to the Infrastructure Team Leader, you will be responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing support of Windows‑based server environments that underpin critical trading applications.

Key responsibilities

• Install, upgrade, configure, administer and maintain Windows Server (2016 and newer) and related services.
• Manage VMware ESXi hosts and vCenter (7.0+) including lifecycle upgrades.
• Administer NetApp storage systems (FAS and E‑Series) using NFS/CIFS protocols.
• Maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies and Azure AD integration.
• Provide 3rd‑line support for server incidents and occasional 1st/2nd‑level escalations.
• Handle Microsoft 365 services, Exchange Server (2016+), Veeam backup, SCCM patch deployment and SQL Server administration.
• Monitor infrastructure with Centreon and manage Citrix XenApp/Desktop, NetScaler ADC and related components.
• Coordinate vendor activities, manage datacenter hardware (rack, patch, HPE iLO) and support networking topology (DMZ, load balancing, firewalls, VLANs).
• Participate in on‑call rotation, including weekend and out‑of‑hours duties, and travel to remote offices as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a comparable server administration role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or related field, or equivalent professional certifications.
• Fluency in both French and English.
• Strong analytical mindset, trustworthy and user‑focused attitude.
