IT Support Engineer – Thin Client Deployment (4 months)

About the role

The IT Support Engineer will join an on‑site team in Zürich for a four‑month project focused on deploying Thin Client devices to end‑users. The role involves preparing, installing, and decommissioning hardware while maintaining accurate asset records and ensuring data security.

Key responsibilities

• Report to the site at the scheduled time and complete all access formalities.
• Unpack, prepare, and build Thin Client devices for deployment.
• Verify inventory of new and legacy IT equipment.
• Validate end‑user information during desk‑side visits.
• Install Thin Client devices at workstations and replace legacy hardware where required.
• Perform secure data wiping of legacy devices using Blancco software.
• Update asset records in the customer’s CMDB/ISAC system.
• Handle on‑site logistics, move equipment, and dispose of packaging according to site guidelines.
• Capture deployment status, report activities, and hand over any issues.
• Prepare legacy devices for collection, including packing and labeling.
• Escalate damaged, missing, or non‑functional equipment immediately.

Required profile

• Arrive onsite at the scheduled reporting time and follow all safety, security, and access procedures.
• Maintain professional communication with end users and project stakeholders.
• Complete deployment activities in line with customer standards and keep a clean, organized work area.
• Accurately update asset and inventory records.
• Ensure all assigned tasks are finished before leaving the site.
• Immediately raise any technical, logistical, or site‑related issues to the project coordinator.
