IT Support Specialist (Hybrid, Zurich)

About the role

The Cardano Foundation, a Swiss not-for-profit advancing the public digital infrastructure Cardano, is looking for an IT Support Specialist for its Infrastructure team, reporting directly to the IT Operations Lead. You will administer core hardware and software systems, resolve day-to-day technical issues and provide responsive 1st-level support to a distributed team across remote and on-site environments. The position is full-time and hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Triage, track and resolve daily hardware and software support requests for on-site and remote staff via Jira Service Management.
• Manage user lifecycles (onboarding, offboarding, role changes) and group permissions and MFA across Google Workspace, Atlassian (Jira/Confluence) and Asana.
• Provision, configure, ship and maintain laptops, mobile devices and peripherals, and keep an accurate hardware asset inventory.
• Support the local office's audio/video equipment, Wi-Fi and network printers.
• Assist with hardware and software purchasing, manage vendor software licenses and enterprise subscriptions, and support IT billing reconciliation.
• Ensure company devices meet security baselines and legal guidelines, and partner with the IT Operations Lead to improve internal IT processes and documentation.
• Oversee root administration, security configurations and delegated access for Foundation social media accounts and brand channels.

Required profile

• Degree or technical certification in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on IT support/operations experience in a hybrid or remote-first environment.
• Strong analytical problem-solving, clear written and verbal communication, and a collaborative, cross-functional international mindset.

Required skills

• Google Workspace user, group and policy administration.
• macOS and Windows workstation configuration and administration.
• Mobile device management (iOS and Android).
• Nice to have: enterprise password managers (1Password), foundational networking (DNS, DHCP, VPNs), German, and experience with generative AI tools.
