Java Software Engineer – Bern (80-100%)

About the role
Our client, a state‑backed medical technology company, is looking for an experienced Java Software Engineer to join their development team in Bern. You will help build and enhance mission‑critical digital health platforms that support clinicians and improve patient outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance Java back‑end services using Java 11‑21 and Spring technologies.
- Implement and evolve REST and GraphQL APIs, ensuring security and scalability.
- Collaborate with product, clinical and engineering teams in an Agile environment.
- Deploy applications to Azure and AWS using Docker, Kubernetes and Helm.
- Participate in code reviews, testing (JUnit, Mockito, TDD) and continuous integration pipelines.
Required profile
- Proven experience with modern Java (11, 17, 21) and Spring Boot/Framework.
- Strong understanding of ORM (Hibernate, JPA) and relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle.
- Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and container orchestration.
- Familiarity with modern front‑end frameworks (React, Angular) and TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Ability to work remotely and communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
