Junior Business Analyst – Banking Operations Transformation

About the role

Julius Baer is hiring a Junior Business Analyst for its Banking Operations Transformation programme, which is driven by the implementation of a new core banking platform. The role focuses on securities processing, especially trade settlement and corporate actions, and helps define future-state processes, analyse impacts, validate data and prepare operational teams for change. It involves close collaboration with local subject matter experts and international project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Elicit, document and structure business requirements with Operations stakeholders
• Analyse and map current and future-state processes in securities processing, with emphasis on trade settlement and corporate actions
• Assess the operational impact of system and process changes across asset classes
• Contribute to test scenario design and support end-to-end testing
• Extract, validate and interpret data to support solution design and decisions
• Prepare procedural documentation, user guides and training materials for Operations teams
• Support data quality initiatives and coordinate clean-up activities before migration

Required profile

• Completed apprenticeship in banking and/or higher education with a focus on banking
• Experience in a business analyst or coordination role within banking operations
• Interest in process analysis, digital transformation and change enablement
• Understanding of post-trade securities operations, especially trade settlement and corporate actions across equities, fixed income, funds and derivatives
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, independent work style and solution-driven attitude
• Fluent English; working knowledge of German is an advantage but not required

Required skills

• Solid database querying or data analysis skills (e.g. SQL, Excel, Power BI)

The contract runs from immediate start until 31 December 2027 with possible extension, paid through an external payroll partner. Applications are submitted via the online application tool.
