Lab Technician, Molecular Biology

About the role

Adaptyv is building an automated laboratory where AI agents design and analyze biology experiments. As a Lab Technician in the Biology team, you will execute molecular biology and protein production workflows that feed the company’s protein‑engineering pipeline, turning manual protocols into reliable, high‑throughput processes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform molecular cloning workflows including PCR, Golden Gate and Gibson assembly, bacterial transformation, and colony screening.
• Run protein expression in bacterial and/or mammalian systems, followed by purification and quality‑control assays.
• Execute QC of constructs and proteins using gel/capillary electrophoresis, Sanger sequencing, SDS‑PAGE, and related techniques.
• Conduct biophysical and functional characterization assays such as binding kinetics and thermostability.
• Prepare reagents, buffers, and reaction mixes according to SOPs.
• Operate and support automated liquid‑handling and other lab‑automation equipment.
• Track samples, inventory, and consumables to ensure uninterrupted lab operations.
• Document experimental parameters and results to maintain reproducibility and data integrity.
• Assist in troubleshooting, optimizing, and scaling molecular biology and protein‑production workflows.

Required profile

• BS or MS in Biology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Life‑Science Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of hands‑on laboratory experience in molecular biology (academic or industry).
