Laboratory Operations Manager – Zurich

About the role

You will ensure the smooth day‑to‑day functioning of a fast‑growing Swiss biotech startup, supporting both laboratory and office operations. The role bridges scientific teams with external suppliers to maintain an efficient, structured environment for research and development.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate procurement activities, logistics, inventory management and vendor relationships.
• Support office administration including onboarding, travel coordination and scheduling.
• Manage laboratory documentation, operational workflows and internal process tracking.
• Handle incoming and outgoing shipments, customs procedures and supplier communication.
• Assist finance tracking through invoice coordination and basic administrative reporting.
• Maintain an organized, well‑functioning laboratory and office environment.
• Act as the primary operational support point between scientific teams and external suppliers.

Required profile

• 3+ years experience as a Lab Manager or in lab operations, preferably in biotech, pharmaceutical or scientific settings.
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities with a structured working approach.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Familiarity with procurement, logistics or vendor‑management processes.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑growth startup environment.
• Fluent in English; German language skills are an advantage.
