Laboratory Technician (m/f)

About the role

Join Qnity’s laboratory team to support the development of advanced electronics through physical testing and analysis of electroplated metallic layers. You will work closely with engineers to ensure material quality and process optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform physical testing of electroplated metallic layers, including thickness measurement with XRF and surface inspection using optical microscopy.
• Prepare samples and manage plating baths, including bath makeup, galvanising, and metal electroplating.
• Analyse electroplating baths using titration, UV‑vis, IR methods and, where applicable, HPLC or ICP techniques.
• Organise sample shipments, adapt testing conditions, and develop new test methods.
• Collect, compile and analyse test data, write reports and communicate results to engineers.
• Maintain laboratory infrastructure, ensuring equipment set‑up, maintenance, safety procedures and documentation.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent (CFC, Bac+2) in material science, mechanical science, physics or chemistry.
• Rigorous, organised and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong laboratory safety awareness and good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Fluency in German and English.
