Laboratory Technician – PCB Materials

About the role

Join the Technology Department of the Advanced Materials division at the Advanced Materials Innovation Center in Basel. The Laboratory Technician will support the development of advanced thermoset materials for printed circuit boards and other electronics applications through hands‑on formulation work, material testing and data analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Perform lab‑scale formulation trials, including filled polymer formulations, and conduct material characterization tests to support product innovation.
• Plan and organise laboratory work with internal functions, document procedures, prepare technical reports and ensure timely completion of assignments.
• Coordinate maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment, manage stocks of chemicals, and handle preparation and dispatch of customer samples.
• Apply a structured, data‑driven approach to generate high‑quality data while complying with EHS, ethics, compliance and international trade guidelines.

Required profile

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in applied chemistry or engineering, or a completed laboratory technician apprenticeship.
• At least three years of experience in processing or formulation of polymeric materials, preferably with epoxy, acrylate and inorganic‑filled formulations.
• Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, problem‑solving skills and ability to work across multiple projects.
• Fluency in English; additional language is a plus.
