Lead Data Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Technical Lead to design and deliver modern data platforms built on Snowflake. You will own the technical architecture, build scalable solutions and help customers turn business requirements into production‑ready data and AI platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable Snowflake data platforms and migrations.
• Build production data pipelines using SQL, Python, Snowpark and dbt.
• Develop AI/ML use cases with Snowflake Cortex and Snowpark ML.
• Own data modelling, governance, security, performance and cost optimisation.
• Automate deployments with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
• Integrate enterprise data sources such as SAP, CRM and streaming platforms.
• Support presales through technical workshops, PoCs and solution design.
• Coach colleagues and contribute to technical best practices.

Required profile

• 6+ years of data engineering experience, preferably in consulting.
• Proven experience delivering Snowflake projects in a technical lead or senior engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of Snowflake architecture, performance tuning and cost optimisation.
• Excellent communication skills in German and English.
