Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence

About the role

The Swiss School for International Relations seeks a Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence to design and deliver an undergraduate course for students in law, international affairs and finance. The role focuses on introducing AI concepts and practical tools while fostering critical assessment of their implications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and teach an undergraduate AI course tailored to non‑technical students.
• Deliver workshops on AI tools for research, analysis, writing and presentations.
• Integrate real‑world case studies relevant to international affairs, law, finance and policymaking.
• Address ethical, legal and societal implications of AI, including bias, data protection and academic integrity.
• Participate in curriculum development and keep teaching materials up‑to‑date.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Data Science or related field, or a Master’s with substantial AI professional experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in AI, including hands‑on experience with generative AI tools.
• Teaching experience at undergraduate or graduate level, or professional training in AI.
• Ability to create accessible, practice‑oriented lessons for non‑technical audiences.
• Understanding of ethical, legal and governance challenges of AI.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Swiss or EU citizenship, or a valid work permit for Switzerland.
