Legal Counsel & Compliance Officer

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Legal Counsel & Compliance Officer to strengthen our compliance framework and support the business in meeting Swiss regulatory requirements. The role combines legal advisory duties with hands‑on compliance management, particularly in data protection and emerging digital technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and implement compliance procedures and policies aligned with Swiss law, regulatory expectations and Group standards.
• Provide clear, pragmatic guidance to business units on compliance matters and act as the owner for designated compliance topics.
• Support the Data Protection Expert on privacy regulations (FADP, GDPR) and contribute to the evolution of data‑governance practices.
• Ensure that digital tools and AI systems comply with legal and regulatory requirements, reducing exposure to legal risk.

Required profile

• Swiss university degree in law (MLaw or BLaw); additional training in compliance or data protection is a plus.
• Native German speaker with fluent English proficiency.
• Minimum three years of professional experience in compliance, regulatory or legal roles, preferably within the financial or (re)insurance sector.
• Strong understanding of Swiss financial‑sector regulations and data‑protection law, with interest in cyber, digitalisation and AI regulation.
