Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join our partner’s team in Switzerland. In this hands‑on position you will own the full machine‑learning lifecycle, turning cutting‑edge research into reliable, production‑grade AI systems that deliver real‑world value.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain production‑ready machine‑learning systems for advanced AI‑powered products.
• Manage the complete lifecycle: data preparation, model training, evaluation, deployment, inference, monitoring and continuous improvement.
• Translate research concepts into scalable, reliable solutions that meet business and technical goals.
• Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve model performance issues and production incidents.
• Optimize models for accuracy, latency, scalability, reliability, efficiency and cost.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate ML capabilities into products.
• Mentor fellow engineers through code reviews, technical guidance and knowledge sharing.
• Build and maintain robust training, inference and data pipelines while ensuring system stability.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing, developing and deploying machine‑learning systems in production.
• Strong expertise in Python and deep‑learning frameworks such as PyTorch and/or JAX.
• Hands‑on experience with GPU‑based training and inference, including performance optimisation and large‑scale model deployment.
• Solid understanding of modern ML models, their behaviour in production and strategies for identifying and fixing failure modes.
• Ability to manage projects independently from concept through deployment while balancing speed, quality and reliability.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
