Machine Learning Engineer - Spatial AI

About the role

Join the Autonomy team at Flyability to develop AI‑based perception and spatial understanding for inspection drones. You will combine 2D images and 3D point clouds to create robust semantic representations of complex indoor environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement state‑of‑the‑art AI models for 2D/3D scene understanding.
• Fuse camera and point‑cloud data into consistent semantic spatial maps supporting navigation and inspection planning.
• Prepare and analyse real‑world drone datasets, evaluate models with quantitative metrics and visualisations, and turn failure cases into improvements.
• Build reliable Python/PyTorch pipelines from research to production and collaborate with mapping, sensors and product teams.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience developing machine‑learning or computer‑vision systems in academia, industry or robotics.
• Deep expertise in modern semantic segmentation for 2D imagery and/or 3D point clouds.
• Proven ability to deliver production‑grade computer‑vision systems from data preparation to deployment.
• Strong proficiency in Python and PyTorch and solid software‑engineering practices.
• Fluent in English; French is a plus.
