Machine Learning Scientist III – Personalisation

About the role

Expedia Group is seeking a Machine Learning Scientist III to join the Unified Personalisation Service team. In this hands‑on role you will develop and operationalise advanced ML models that power real‑time personalisation across our travel brands.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy deep‑learning and neural recommender systems for ranking, recommendations, and session‑based modelling.
• Develop scalable experimentation frameworks and evaluate model performance both offline and online.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, analytics, and science teams to define solution approaches and influence technical direction.
• Own end‑to‑end ML pipelines, from data preparation and feature design to production monitoring and model quality assurance.
• Contribute to API and system design that ensures robust, maintainable, and extensible ML‑powered services.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related field.
• Proven experience building production ML systems, preferably in a personalisation or recommendation context.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate business problems into scalable scientific solutions.
