Mail and Sales Clerk – UNPA Geneva Counter (Individual Contractor)

About the role

The United Nations Postal Administration (UNPA) in Geneva is seeking an Individual Contractor to operate the mail and sales counter. You will support the sale of philatelic products, handle personalized stamp orders, and ensure timely processing of mail for postage.

Key responsibilities

• Sell UNPA philatelic items and personalized stamp sheets to visitors and customers.
• Process cash and credit‑card transactions, deposit daily sales revenue into the UNPA bank account, and generate daily and monthly sales reports.
• Handle, frank, and deliver mail destined for SAFI and UNOG mailroom, and submit monthly mail‑out reports to Swiss Post.
• Replenish stock, conduct inventory checks, and maintain the display inventory.
• Set up and operate photographic, computer and printing equipment for personalized stamp production.
• Respond to customer inquiries, follow up on requests, and liaise with UNPA offices in Vienna and other UN entities.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Limited relevant work experience; willingness to learn.
• Good knowledge of UNPA philatelic products and postal rules (desirable).
• Professional, client‑oriented attitude with strong accountability.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and French; additional UN language is a plus.
