Manager - Financial Accounting Advisory Services (US Markets)

About the role

EY is expanding its Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team in Switzerland and is hiring a Manager to support the US-Focused Markets Group (US-FMG) in Zurich/Basel. The role leads US GAAP and US capital markets projects across many industries, working closely with clients who need bespoke advice where no off-the-shelf solution exists.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with EY FAAS leadership in Switzerland to develop and execute client strategies that meet high client expectations.
• Work with other service lines and subject matter experts to deliver an integrated service model across functions in an international team.
• Manage and deliver US GAAP and US capital markets FAAS projects and contribute to the growth of the FAAS US-FMG.
• Maintain a clear understanding of client business needs so deliverables are client-focused, accurate and well presented.
• Deliver work on time and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Develop new opportunities related to FAAS projects, solutions and relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor or Master degree (preferred in Accounting/Finance), complemented by further professional education such as US CPA (preferred), Swiss CPA, ACCA or CFA.
• 6 to 8 years of experience in audit or consulting with a focus on US GAAP, PCAOB, SOX, SEC and US capital market transactions.
• Experience advising on capital markets transactions such as IPOs, public debt listings and carve-outs is strongly encouraged.
• Proven record of project leadership, mentoring and developing a team of high performers.
• Very good English speaking and writing; German and French are a plus.

Required skills

• US GAAP, PCAOB, SOX and SEC knowledge.
• IFRS knowledge is not required but a plus for GAAP conversion projects.
• Strong technical writing skills and advanced risk management knowledge.
